Well, let’s have a nice deep dive into the design quality of these 2 big hitters and what kind of design outputs and marketing collateral they are giving their customers.
Here at Zenn.com, we’re relatively new. We’re the hustlers. The new kid on the block. It’s David Vs Goliath. We’re David. And the others - they’re Goliath. But we have a trusty little slingshot, and it’s called Great Design.
We’re here to right the world and rid ourselves of all the horrible designs that we see out there on that funny old place called The Internet. Lots of websites claim to be 'free' (They never are) or have 'Professional' quality logos. (They’re really not.) But let’s be honest here, what does 'professional' really mean?
Our Founders and design team have more than 200 years of collective experience in design agencies, so they know what professional means! At Zenn.com, we strive to give our customers the absolute best-of-the-best logos and design assets. We want our customers to feel like they’ve been able to afford some highfalutin’ design agency that would normally cost thousands of dollars, just to take a meeting.

These 8 logos are of the highest quality and come with optional backgrounds you can use for your marketing purposes. Once you tell us a little about your business and choose a brand color, Zenn creates beautiful, appropriate logos for you and your business.

Let’s have a look at what Looka offers. Unfortunately, when you buy a brand on looka, you can't see what logos you get. All you can do is download a large file of all your logos and try to find the logo you want to use. Not ideal. looka-logos.png37.83 KB As you can see below with our "Pocket Pal" logo, the quality of logos generated from Looka are not of great quality. Not only is gold and white not legible in any format, but the design is very basic, to say the least. Not the kind of impression you want to make with your customers.

It’s also quite important that you can read the marketing message - and contrast is always considered with Zenn marketing assets - people with low vision often have difficulty reading text that does not contrast with its background. We do our best to make sure our advertising on Zenn is inclusive and available for all.
Let’s have a look at our business cards. Zenn business cards are designed for quality and clarity in mind. They are simple, elegant and let your logo shine. They also introduce a third brand identity color into your brand guidelines, adding even more versatility to your BrandKit. You can download these as Hi-Res PDFs (or PDF or JPEG) and send them off to your local printer. Easy!

Unfortunately, they are not of the best standard. We’ve found that Looka tends to value volume over quality, whereas, at Zenn, we take a lot of time and care to make sure our assets and designs are of the highest quality. The Looka business cards won’t be giving you the kind of impression to potential new customers:

Let’s move on to Letterheads. The place you can make a great impression with a beautiful, elegant statement that will say so much about your company. You want your business letterhead to be a simple, typographically balanced work of art. Let’s see what Zenn makes for you:

Download and send - all branded with your new logo and business details. It’s just like you had a senior designer creating all your business assets for you! Zenn automatically creates 2 letterhead designs for you.
Let’s see what Looka’s letterhead is like:

The first of course, is the black colour. We haven’t been monitoring the cost of printer ink recently, but feel that to avoid early bankruptcy in your business, you should probably avoid printing these on a regular basis.
Also, white type is very hard to read on a black background - and considering this might be printed on a home printer - it’s going to be a disaster.
At Zenn, we don’t do black letterheads - for these exact reasons. Another problem with this design is the length of the sentences on the page. When reading, you only want about 12-15 words per line, otherwise it will be very difficult to read. By the time your eyes get back to the start of the next line, you’ve forgotten where you were!

Next up, one of our favorites: Brand Guidelines.
The Zenn Brand Guidelines, part of our incredible BrandKit, are extensive and will give you everything you’ll need to keep your brand consistent and unique.
The Zenn Brand Guidelines include a wide range of important information, including:
• Advice on what logo to use in what environments
• Space to use when your brand sits next to other brands
• Your unique brand philosophy
• Your company’s tone of voice
• Your 3 new brand colors
• Advice on imagery to use in your marketing
These Brand Guidelines are great to have if you’ll be working with 3rd parties and they may need assistance on how to make products or marketing for you and working with your brand. Keep your new brand safe - it’s really important! Your customers will become acquainted with your brand's style, colors, and tone of voice. If these change or become inconsistent - everyone will be confused and you’ll start to lose business. Let’s not do that.

This next page is quite revealing, in terms of who works at the wallet company. We’re not sure if everyone at the company is a handbag, but we think Joshua needs to seriously up his night time moisturising regime.

Even large companies struggle with this, as they have so many employees making all kinds of assets. It’s a recipe for disaster!

We included in the BrandKit, a digital business card. It’s very slick and stylish and will give people the impression that you really are a professional outfit, who knows your stuff. The typography is great and you can add your details with a few strokes of your keyboard.
To add your portrait, just drag a JPEG image of yourself from your desktop, onto the artboard and scale it how you like. You can change the layer it appears on by selecting the image and in the top right of your screen, select "Position" and click the down button until the image is on the layer you want it to be. Voila - here’s your new digital business card:
